She writes blog content for businesses in the home services niche, usually on the topics of plumbing, heating and air conditioning, electrical, and landscaping. Her 14-year experience working in a hardware store and lumberyard well prepared her for this role.
Emily is also well-known for her “eagle eye” ability to catch spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors in any written document. Work associates, family, and friends often call on her to check over their work. Noting a growing need for proofreading and editing services, she expanded her freelance career to include this option.
Recently, Emily has made creative writing a priority. She has written stories and poems since she was a small child, and her gift was nurtured and encouraged by teachers and family. She is now working on her first novel, an LGBTQ romance about two friends spending a weekend together at a cabin. Completion of her novel is projected for August 2021.
Emily Domedion also works part-time as a companion caregiver for the elderly. She cares deeply for her clients and enjoys finding fun ways to connect with them. Society often treats the elderly as disposable or less-than-human, and she feels strongly about providing dignity and respect in addition to comfort and companionship.
Before becoming a caregiver and launching her freelance career, she worked in the advertising department at The Buffalo News, and as the Assistant Manager at Standish-Jones Building Supply in Gasport, NY.
In her downtime, she enjoys reading, cooking and baking, watching tv, playing Pokemon GO, and spending time with her husband. She loves taking care of their home, their gardens, and their three cats.
